Pelmeni are Russian dumplings, with an outside dough made from flour, water, eggs, and salt, and different inside fillings. In Brighton Beach, we visited a restaurant called Tatiana Grill, which served many types of pelmeni. We got ones with a potato and cheese filling, which reminded me of a pierogie. We got ones with a meat and vegetable filling, and those reminded me of Chinese dumplings (饺子). For dessert, we got more pelmeni! These had sweet cheese and cherry fillings, which was a new taste for me, but I didn’t enjoy them as much as the others. I liked all the savory ones, and I would rate those a 10/10.
