Tea leaf salad is a burmese food which consists of pickled tea leaves, tomatoes, cabbage, shrimp, nuts, garlic, and depending on the family, other ingredients as well. In Myanmar, the people will eat this dish for any meal of the day. If it is eaten with rice it is a meal. However, some people will eat it without rice as an appetizer, especially when they have guests over. We had it with rice. I really liked the dish, there was a variety of textures and it tasted both salty and sour. It is definitely different from what I eat everyday, however I would definitely eat it again.
