We went to Abu Rass in Paterson, NJ, a Middle Eastern restaurant and were served several staple foods. However, one that stood out the most was the kebab. The kebab served to us was lamb and chicken, and they came topped with onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, and jalapeƱos. This was also served with a pita bread that you could stuff with the kebab and veggies. Not only this, but various different dippings such as hummus, hot sauce, tabouleh, ba’dounsiyeh, etc, were brought to the table and were very complementary to the pita and kebab. The kebab was savory, salty, and just a little spicy but not a bad burn, and the pita was warm and super soft. I thought the hummus paired best with this dish because it didn’t override the amazing flavors.
