Made with a simple dough of flour, water, eggs, and salt, pelmeni are traditional Russian dumplings that originated in Siberia. They are usually stuffed with a filling of ground pork, chicken, turkey, or beef and are seasoned with onions, salt, and pepper. The pelmeni at Tatiana Grill, a restaurant in Brighton Beach, consisted of a beef, chicken, and onion filling that created a burst of savory flavor in combination with the doughy shell. The taste was very similar to Chinese pork dumplings, which are one of my favorite dishes. I would definitely recommend these pelmeni.
