Baklava is a Middle Eastern dessert, make of phyllo dough, honey, an assortment of nuts, and many other ingredients. It has a very flaky, but also crunchy kind of texture when you first bite into it, but the honey (which often drips from the corners of the treat) also gives it a gooey, sticky, and sweet sensation. The pistachio nut also adds just a savory touch to the treat, also adding a more solid and firm texture, but overall this treat is still very sugary and quite literally melts in your mouth. Baklava is DELICIOUS and I strongly recommend it! We saw it in almost every single market we went to in Paterson, NJ, and was served at almost every restaurant too. The baklava I got was from a grocer and I’m super happy with my purchase.
