At a Middle Eastern restaurant in Paterson, Abu Rass, we tried many different appetizers, sauces, and meats. The staple was, of course, pita bread, which was soft, fluffy, and delicious. As for the meat, we tried kofta, shish kebabs, shish tawook, and beef and chicken Shawarma. Everything was so delicious and greatly surpassed my expectations. Kofta, ground beef mixed with onions, garlic, and spices, was really good. My favorite was the chicken shawarma. This popular street food had a nice smoky flavor and had a hint of spice, but not too much. The food reminded me of Korean barbecue. Although Korean barbecue meat is usually somewhat sweet and this was savory, both have strong flavors and can be eaten as is. Overall, I rate this meal a 10/10 and would definitely recommend this restaurant and the food.
